Spring, Snow, and Maple Syrup

By Brian Buckley, with photos by the Mitani Family

In what has become an annual tradition, the Circle of Friends visited the Fortune Farms sugar bush on Saturday, March 25. The turnout was excellent, with over thirty Circle members and friends representing a variety of age groups and backgrounds in attendance. The Fortune family extended their usual gracious hospitality, quickly and easily making everyone feel welcome. Gilas, our generous corporate sponsor, saw to it that participants sampled the delicious maple taffy on snow, and went home well supplied with maple syrup. The weather was not great, with a snowfall bringing the visit to an earlier than scheduled ending. Still, the event was marked by much laughter, great food, and warm fellowship.

A shout out to Brian and Irene Mitani for the excellent pictures.

Spring, snow, and maple syrup. Welcome to Canada everyone!
