Our parish community is preparing for Pentecost Sunday by praying the Holy Spirit Novena from May 10-18. The novena in honour of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself.
It commemorates the nine days between the Ascension of Our Lord and the descent of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost Sunday when the the disciples waited in unity and prayer for the Holy Spirit.
“They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.” – Acts 1:14
