BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Saturday, October 5, at 2 p.m.
on the Holy Rosary parish lawn

In celebration of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi and to honour the Pope's prayer intentions for the Care of Creation, Father Francis, pastor of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary parish, will offer a Blessing of the Animals to the community.

In many parishes, St. Francis’ feast day is marked by a Blessing of the Animals, an event that emphasises the interdependence between humans and the natural world. As Jack Wintz, OFM, reminds us in this reflection from 2018, we are one family under God’s loving care:

This year at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary we are invited to bring our pets (appropriately contained) or pictures of them to be blessed outside the church (20 Grant St.) on Saturday, October 5, at 2 p.m. We hope you and your friends - furred, feathered, scaly, finned, or human - will be able to join us!
