LEADERSHIP
“Give a shepherd's care to the flock of God that is entrusted to you: watch over it, not simply as a duty but gladly, as God wants.” - 1 Peter 5:2

Our parish is guided by our Pastor, our Deacon, and a team of hard-working volunteers.

Holy Rosary Parish is a community that by building upon its rich history, seeks, through the Holy Spirit and the intercession of our Blessed Mother, Mary, to celebrate, live and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our Vision and Mission guide our Pastoral Parish Constitution, our Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, its ministries, and activities. We walk in Synodality which means journeying together as the People of God and listening to each individual as a member of the Church.

What does the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) do?
The Pastoral Council is the laity’s voice leading the parish towards its mission. We provide advice to the pastor, parish staff and key volunteers concerning pastoral activity. Keeping in mind our parish mission and the importance of caring for our community, it is important that the Parish Council strives to discern the Will of God, which enables the accomplishment of its pastoral mission through prayer, reflection, and dialogue. The PPC supports and follows the Code of Conduct under the Safe Environment initiative for respect, care, and safety for one another.
How does the PPC operate?
With its responsibilities outlined in the Parish Constitution and the Code of Canon Law, the Parish Pastoral Council is established to provide leadership, consultation, and advice to the Parish. The clergy and the laity are both called by their baptism and confirmation to take active roles in the Church and collaborate in the mission of Christ for the spreading of the kingdom of God on Earth. In the spirit of Vatican II, the Church should always value the transformative power of faith-filled laity who are willing to serve the Gospel. We hold consensus-based, regular and transparent meetings that are open to parishioners and provide information through regular written updates.

The PPC works collaboratively to encourage, promote, and inspire the participation of clergy, religious and the laity in sharing the Gospel, to foster the spiritual growth of the parish community, and to develop outreach to the poor, refugees, those in spiritual need and to inactive Catholics through evangelization and catechesis. The PPC serves as a means for the parish to express its views on spiritual matters affecting parish life.

The PPC prepares strategic plans, priorities, decisions, and goals that guide the parish at large. It also establishes, coordinates, supports, and evaluates the work of committees, as well as provides input to ministries through the Ministry Coordinator role.
