The Epiphany of the Lord

The Feast of the Epiphany, celebrated on January 6 (or the closest Sunday), marks the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus, as told in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 2:1-12). The Magi, often referred to as the “Three Wise Men” or “Three Kings,” followed a miraculous star to Bethlehem, seeking the "newborn King of the Jews."

Upon arriving, they worshipped Jesus and presented Him with three symbolic gifts:

Gold: Acknowledging Jesus as King.

Frankincense: Honoring His divinity and role as High Priest.

Myrrh: Foreshadowing His suffering and death.

The Epiphany, meaning "manifestation" or "appearance," celebrates the revelation of Jesus as the Savior not just for Israel, but for all nations. The journey of the Magi represents the universal call to worship Christ, transcending boundaries of culture and nationality.

- In what ways can I welcome and embrace people from different backgrounds, cultures, or beliefs as part of God’s family?

- What steps can I take to share the light of Christ with those who feel excluded or far from God?

The Epiphany challenges us to reflect on our openness to God's call and our readiness to share His light with the world. It is a feast of hope, invitation, and the joy of encountering Christ

Heavenly Father,
